Supporter terms
These terms apply to county support of the foodbanks.co.uk directory. Version 2026-08-10.
These terms apply to county support arranged through foodbanks.co.uk. They are written to be understood rather than to be impressive. If anything here is unclear, email info@foodbanks.co.uk and we will explain it.
1. What you are paying for
You are funding the checking and upkeep of the food bank listings in one named county for twelve months. In return we acknowledge your support on the county page, on every town and city page within it, and on every food bank listing inside it, and we give you a profile page and a badge for your own website.
2. What you are not paying for
You are not buying advertising. We make no promise about how many people will see your name, click your link, contact you or become customers. You are not buying influence over anything we publish. You are not buying any information about the people who use this site, and you will never receive any.
3. Term
Twelve months, starting on the day your acknowledgement goes live rather than the day you pay.
4. Payment and renewal
Payable annually in advance. Support renews automatically at the end of each term at the price then current, unless you cancel. We will email you before each renewal.
5. VAT
We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on your support and none appears on your invoice.
6. Approval
Nothing appears on the site until we have checked and approved your business. We may decline any business, and we do not have to give a reason. If we decline you, we refund the full amount.
7. Changing your mind
If you tell us within fourteen days of paying that you have changed your mind, we will refund you in full and end the arrangement. You can email info@foodbanks.co.uk. We will process the refund to the card you paid with, usually within three working days. After fourteen days you can still cancel at any time. Your support then runs to the end of the period you have paid for and no further payment is due. This is separate from the refund we give if we cannot accept your business, which is always in full whenever it happens.
8. Exclusivity
One supporter per county for the length of your term. That exclusivity applies to that county only and to nothing else on the site.
9. Your logo
You give us permission to display your logo, name and description on this site for the length of your term. You keep ownership of all of it. We may resize it or place it on a plain background so it displays properly, and we will not alter it in any other way.
10. Our badge
You may display our supporter badge on your own website while your support is active, linking to this site. Please remove it when your support ends.
11. Independence
Supporters have no say over which food banks are listed, how they are described, the order anything appears in, or anything we write. Any link to your website is marked as a paid relationship rather than an editorial recommendation.
12. Businesses we cannot accept
Payday and high-cost lenders, gambling and betting, fee-charging debt collection and debt management, rent-to-own, alcohol and tobacco. We may also decline anything else we judge would sit badly beside a food bank listing.
13. Food banks can opt out
Any organisation listed on this site can ask us to keep supporter acknowledgements off its own page. We will do that immediately and without asking why. This may mean your acknowledgement does not appear on every listing in your county, and it does not change what you pay.
14. When we can end the arrangement
We may end your support and refund the unused part of your term if you breach these terms, if your business moves into one of the sectors in clause 12, or if continuing would in our reasonable judgement damage the standing of the directory or our relationships with the food banks we work with.
15. Things outside our control
We take reasonable care to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and brief outages do not entitle you to a refund.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
