Supporter terms
These terms apply to county support of the foodbanks.co.uk directory. Version 2026-08-10.
This is a commercial arrangement between your business and foodbanks.co.uk. It is not a donation, and we are not a charity. You are funding the work of keeping food bank information accurate for a county, and we acknowledge that support publicly.
1. Term
Support runs for twelve months from the date your acknowledgement goes live on the site, not from the date you pay. If approval takes a few days, those days are not taken out of your year.
2. Payment and renewal
The fee is annual and payable in advance. Support renews automatically each year at the price then published, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We email a reminder before every renewal so it never arrives unannounced.
3. VAT
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. foodbanks.co.uk is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged and none is recoverable on these invoices. If that position changes we will tell every supporter in writing before it affects an invoice.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time. Your acknowledgement runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and there is no pro-rata refund of the unused part. If we decline your business, you receive a full refund.
5. Approval
Nothing goes live until we have approved the business. We may decline any business without giving a reason.
6. Exclusivity
One supporter per county for the term. Exclusivity applies to that county and to nothing else: it gives no rights over other counties, national pages, guides or any other part of the site.
7. Logo use and licence
You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display your logo, business name, strapline and description for the term, and you confirm you have the right to grant it. Our supporter badge may be displayed on your own website for the duration of the term only, and must be removed when the term ends.
8. Editorial independence
Supporters have no influence over which food banks are listed, how they are described, the order anything appears in, or anything we write. This is not negotiable at any price.
9. Prohibited sectors
We do not accept support from payday and high-cost lenders, gambling and betting, fee-charging debt collection and debt management, rent-to-own, alcohol or tobacco businesses.
10. Food bank objection
Any listed organisation may decline to display a supporter acknowledgement on its own listing. Where that happens we remove it from that listing immediately, and no refund or reduction is due for it.
11. No user data
Supporters receive no personal data about anyone using the site, in any form, at any time.
12. No guarantees
We do not guarantee traffic, impressions, click-throughs, enquiries, leads, sales or any other business outcome. What you are paying for is that the information stays accurate and your support of that work is acknowledged.
13. Link treatment
Any outbound link to a supporter's own website is marked as a paid relationship rather than an editorial recommendation.
14. Termination by us
We may end the arrangement, remove the acknowledgement and refund the unused portion of the fee if the supporter breaches these terms, moves into a prohibited sector, or acts in a way that brings the directory into disrepute.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
