Volunteers sorting and packing food donations at a UK food bank

Nobody chooses to look for a food bank.

One local business keeps the listings right for a whole county. That business could be yours.

It is nine o'clock on a Sunday. Somebody in your town has run out of money, run out of food, and run out of people to ask. They search for a food bank, and what they find has to be right, because they cannot afford a wasted bus fare to a door that turns out to be closed.

Keeping that information correct is a real job. We check opening times, addresses, referral rules and phone numbers with nearly 3,000 food banks, and we do it constantly, because those details change every week. There is no charge to use the site, no account and no advertising clutter. One business per county pays for it, and that is the whole model.

What you get

  • Your logo on every page in your county

Not a rotation. Not a slot you share with three competitors. The county page, every town and city page beneath it, and every single food bank listing inside it. In Greater Manchester that is 137 pages. In Kent, 108. In Cornwall, 57. Yours alone, for twelve months.

  • People see you at the moment it counts

Your logo sits beside information somebody actually needed. Not an ad they scrolled past, not a banner they blocked. The quiet line underneath says you are the reason this is free, and in a county where everyone knows everyone, that is worth more than a hoarding on the ring road.

  • Your own page on our supporters section

Your logo, your story, what you do and a link through to your website. Written by you, hosted by us, live for the year.

  • A badge for your own website

Show it on your homepage or in your footer. Customers, staff and the panels you tender to can see exactly what you support and click through to check it.

  • Exclusivity for twelve months

One business per county. While you hold it, no competitor can appear beside you at any price.

Why it matters

We keep it accurate, and that is not glamorous work

Somebody has to ring round and ask whether the Tuesday session still runs, whether they still need a voucher, whether they have moved to the church hall. That is what your money buys. Not marketing. Not overheads. The unglamorous business of making sure a stranger in trouble is told the truth.

The people using this have nothing spare

No paywall, no sign-up, no charge. There never will be. The people who need this site the most are the people least able to pay for anything, so they never will.

We are a business, and we are straight about that

We are not a charity and we do not take donations. We are an independent directory that has to pay its own way. That makes this simpler for you, not harder. Supporting a county is a marketing cost like any other, invoiced properly and set against your profits, not a donation you have to justify to anyone.

What it costs

Price follows the size of the county, and nothing else. A bigger county means more food banks, more pages and more people finding them.

Platinum

£2,500

a year

The three biggest: London, Greater Manchester and the West Midlands

Gold

£1,500

a year

Twelve large counties including Kent, Essex, Hampshire and Surrey

Silver

£1,000

a year

Twenty-one mid-sized counties

Bronze

£500

a year

Twenty-eight smaller counties

Community

£500

a year

All eight of our smallest counties together, as one bundle, to one business

That works out at somewhere between four and nineteen pounds per page, per year. Cheaper than almost anything else with your name on it, and the only one that leaves a county better served than it found it.

County availability

65 of 65 are still up for grabs. Once a county goes, it is gone for the year.

How it works

1

Find your county

Check the list, see what is still free, and see exactly how many pages your logo will appear on.

2

Tell us about your business

Name, contact, a short description and your logo. Two minutes.

3

Pay by card

We take the year up front and hold the county for you straight away.

4

We check, then you go live

We look over every business before anything appears. Once you are approved your logo goes live across the whole county, usually within a working day.

Questions

Can a food bank say no to supporter logos?

Yes, immediately and without explanation. If a food bank would rather no logo appeared on its own listing, we take it off that listing the same day. They come first. Always.

Who cannot support?

Payday and high-cost lenders, gambling and betting, fee-charging debt collection, rent-to-own, alcohol and tobacco. Anything that would make a person in trouble feel worse for seeing it. If we cannot accept you, you get every penny back.

What if my county has gone?

Tell us which one and we will let you know the month it comes up for renewal. Neighbouring counties are often still free.

Can I cancel?

Any time. Your support runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

What do I actually get out of it?

Your name in front of people in your county, on pages they arrived at deliberately rather than pages they were interrupted on. A page and a badge you can point customers, staff and tender panels at. And a straight answer when somebody asks what your business does for the place it operates in.

Anything else? info@foodbanks.co.uk

One county. One business. Twelve months.

Seventy-two counties. Most are still free. Take yours before somebody down the road does.
